Willo & Ember Sernovitz

Willo and Ember Sernovitz have been working with glass since 1994 and are master glassblowers in traditional furnace glassblowing as well as flameworked borosilicate glass.  Their goal is to build a strong glass community in Humboldt County in northern California and a resource center for continuing glass art education and insight.  SoulShine Arts is Humboldt County's only public glassblowing school and studio. This organization is the center for glassblowing in our area and Willo and Ember work tirelessly to create a wide range of opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to connect with the magic of glassblowing!

Ember Sernovitz has been working in glass since the 1980's. She continued her artwork though out the years. Her unique style represents her connection to nature and wonder of the world. She produces her beautiful glass artwork as well as teaching and inspiring others in creating incredible glass art. Ember's work is highly sought after and has been displayed in shows and magazines throughout the United States. Her work is displayed in Australia, England, and Japan, among other countries.

Willo Sernovitz, has been working and teaching glassblowing and flameworking since 1994. His passion for light and color is expressed through his creative style and use of multi- color blending to give each piece a dimensional lifelike effect all its own. Always re-inventing his styles, Willo also is an accomplished Flame worker and metal worker and visual artist. His work has been featured in many design and art publications and in galleries throughout the United States and abroad.

Willo is the original founder of Liquid Light Studio, a groundbreaking glass collective that helped sculpt the roots of Humboldt County Glass culture back in the late 90’s. Liquid Light spawned a community that brought glass blowing into the mainstream across the country and the world.
